Although the natural color of linen is a soft creamy shade, it can be easily dyed in a wide variety of colors that retain their richness even after repeated washing.

Cotton fabric is a naturally appealing fiber that is loved all over the world. Cotton is suitable for all skin types, extremely soft, and pleasant against the skin. Cotton is not as thin as linen, but it is easier to care for and less prone to wrinkling.

High-quality fabric feels soft and smooth right from the start, has a dense and even weave, no loose threads and no strong chemical smell. It should feel solid and have a good weight.

Cotton High-quality cotton is soft, breathes excellently and becomes softer with every wash. Look for Egyptian cotton, Mako satin or percale with a high thread count (minimum 200–300). Good cotton does not feel rough or thin.

Microfiber Quality microfiber is extremely soft, lightweight and quick-drying. It should feel silky and not static or “plastic-like”. High-quality microfiber is good for allergy sufferers because it collects fewer dust mites. Avoid cheap microfiber that pills quickly.

Crumpled cotton is a specially treated cotton fabric that is processed to maintain a permanent crumpled, textured surface. The fabric looks naturally wrinkled and usually does not require ironing.

Cotton bedding is durable and breathable, but proper care helps maintain its softness and longevity. Wash cotton bedding at 40°C to remove dirt and bacteria without damaging the fibers. Avoid bleach, as it can weaken the fabric and fade colors. For bright or dark cotton, use detergents made for colored fabrics. Melange is a material woven from multicolored yarns—that is, threads that are blended before the fabric is spun (the French term mélange means “mixture”). Melange can be made from various fibers (e.g., wool, synthetics), but in this category you will find cotton melange specifically.

Cotton melange usually has a more interesting, varied color, with different shades that can appear differently depending on the lighting. This means cotton melange bedding will not be a solid, uniform color; when viewed up close, you will notice the weave of differently colored cotton threads. In terms of softness, cotton melange is just as gentle as regular cotton fabric.
